Overview

I am an entomologist interested in vector-borne disease dynamics, public health, and science policy. At Duke, I serve as the Assistant Director of the Triangle Center for Evolutionary Medicine (TriCEM). In my role with TriCEM, I lead initiatives to advance research and education in evolutionary medicine. My PhD research focused on the effects of suburban development on mosquito assemblages, and its subsequent impacts on pathogen transmission using dog heartworm disease as a study system. I currently serve as the Medical, Urban, and Veterinary Entomology Representative to the Student Affairs Committee in the Entomological Society of America, Membership Officer of the North Carolina Entomological Society, and Legislative Chair of the North Carolina Mosquito and Vector Control Association.
