A fifth year student with Jenny Tung, Tauras is interested in the origins and consequences of gene regulatory variation in primates. His dissertation research focuses on the evolution of DNA methylation among Papio baboons, using comparisons between species and leveraging naturally occurring admixture in the Amboseli baboon population.
Doctoral Dissertation Research: Leveraging natural hybridization to understand the evolution of primate gene regulation. awarded by National Science Foundation (PI-Fellow). 2018 to 2020
