Evolutionary perspectives on the social factors that predict health, lifespan, and Darwinian fitness. Comparative insight from evolutionary models and research on other species, as well as recent genetic studies of evolutionary history and trait variation in humans. Topics include: mechanisms of evolution, the long-term consequences of early life adversity, social environmental effects on health, the genetics of socially relevant traits.
