Evolutionary Anthropology Capstone

Advanced approaches to topics central to evolutionary anthropology. The seminar course will help students synthesize the knowledge they acquired in their coursework in the major. The course will focus on three areas: evolutionary biology, human evolution, and why evolutionary anthropology matters for society. Specific topics covered include: science vs. pseudoscience, evolutionary forces, nonhuman primates as models for human ecology and behavior, human adaptation and migration, health, and human environmental impact. Students will apply what they have learned to 'current events' and discuss various career paths. Recommended prerequisite Evolutionary Anthropology 101.
