Class of 2025
Majors in Evolutionary Anthropology and Biology

My name is Samantha Kefer and I am a junior from Westchester, New York majoring in both evolutionary anthropology and biology. I am heavily involved in research with the Hare lab, studying the cognitive abilities and behavioral tendencies of dogs and lemurs. Outside of academics, I am a dorm volunteer with Duke Puppy Kindergarten, the vice president of Be the Match on Campus, and the treasurer of the club softball team. After I graduate, I hope to persue a phD in animal cognition and continue to research at the professional level.

Favorite Class: My favorite class at Duke was Primate Field Biology (EVANTH 344L). This class gave me the opportunity to conduct my own behavioral observations and taught me how to communicate these data effectively in with empirical analysis. In fact, I enjoyed this class so much that I am now working as a teaching assistant in the fall of 2023.
